Wychavon Parish Games Competition 2025

The Wychavon Parish Games is a unique competition of 15 events, that Parishes and Town Wards may enter. It is predominantly a friendly competition, which brings people from across the district together. Although there are 15 events, a Parish can enter as many or as few as they want. The competition is organised by a group of volunteers under the banner of the Wychavon Parish Games Association (WPGA). The organisation has a Facebook Page which anyone who wants information can join (Wychavon Parish Games – Home) and a Website (Wychavonparishgames.org). Each year Eckington enters the above event and has had some considerable success in the past, winning the major trophy on two occasions and enjoying success in some of the individual events such as Skittles, Cross Country, Crib, Bowls, Pool and Petanque to name a few who have been successful. We have a Parish Contact, who as of 2025 is Maggie Lanchester, she heads up a group of team captains for each of the individual events, their details are below. The 15 events are divided into two categories. Mixed means that the team can consist of ladies or gents. There are some age restrictions and players under 18 years of age, must have signed consent from Parent/Guardian to take part for Insurance reasons: Rounders (6-9 Mixed).
